A Master’s degree (NQF Level 9) in Health Information Systems Management or related degree with at least four (4) years of lecturing experience at tertiary education level and /or industry experience or an equivalent combination of relevant professional experience. Excellent English communication skills (oral and written) and proven record of teaching, research supervision and publications in accredited journal. A certified Medical Coder and proven competence in developing high quality course materials as well as teaching of the following courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels: Current Procedural Terminology (ICD-10 CM & PCS, ICD 11) and Advanced Medical Coding and Billing and at least one (1) of the following courses: Telemedicine or MHealth, Health Informatics and Technologies, Health Database Management and Programming. Competent to assume academic leadership, to establish professional networks, community engagement and to maintain links with the industry.
