Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Clinical Faculty, School of Nursing

The University at Buffalo School of Nursing (SON) invites applicants for a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Clinical Faculty position. This is a full time appointment to teach in the SON in Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) programs. Responsibilities include:
- Classroom and online didactic teaching.
- Mentoring, supervising and evaluating students in clinical and simulated learning environments.
- Planning, developing and implementing evidence-based, innovative, and interactive learning experiences for students within classroom and clinical learning environments.
- Maintaining clinical nursing expertise and adhering to ethical and professional nursing standards of practice.
- Complying with State, University, Clinical Agency, Accrediting Agencies and professional regulations and requirements.
- Using effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with students, faculty, staff, community partners and interdisciplinary roles.
- Collaborating with faculty to plan, design, implement, and lead classroom, laboratory/simulated, and community practical student learning experiences.
- Establishing collaborative and positive working relationships that respect the dignity, worth, and culture of students, faculty, staff, colleagues, peers, patients, families, communities, agency nurse managers, and interdisciplinary agency teams and staff.
- Participating in agency/organizational/unit orientations.
- Assisting students with the transfer, utilization, and synthesis of knowledge into current learning activities and practical experiences through establishment of physical and emotional environments conducive to effective teaching and learning.
- Establishing early intervention/remediation through specific written guidance and referral for activities to facilitate academic success in students demonstrating unsafe advanced nursing practice and/or who lack clinical preparation.
- Supporting incoming student selection, recruitment initiatives and school of nursing activities.
- Successfully advance service, scholarship, and teaching missions of UB.
