As a part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University's Leighton School of Nursing (LSON) is seeking an energetic and internally motivated adjunct faculty member for the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program to promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by teaching track-specific courses for Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) students (didactic and clinical) as well as courses for all DNP students (FNP students and Nurse Anesthesia students). In addition to the graduate nursing DNP program, the LSON a leader in undergraduate nursing education with its traditional BSN and accelerated BSN programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values, honoring the legacy of the founding congregation, through transformative education unity in diversity, leadership through service, integrating faith and life, institutional policies.
- Support overall philosophy and goals of the graduate nursing programs.
- Collaborate with track director and other faculty to develop and administer coursework in the program.
- Participate in ongoing program and curricula quality improvement initiatives.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and activities to enhance student learning and promote student achievement of program outcomes.
- Accurately document student progress and achievement within specific courses and/or clinical assignments
- Fulfill all other duties and responsibilities of the adjunct faculty position as designated in the School of Nursing Faculty Handbook
- Accept responsibility for assignments as delegated.
- Maintain licensure and certification requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Doctoral Degree in Nursing (PhD or DNP)*
- *Doctoral Degree in a related field will be considered (for example, Pharm D)
- *Masters Degree will be considered for 500-600 level courses depending on candidate experience
- Board certification as a nurse practitioner, if applicable
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Current Licensure as an APRN in state of residence, if applicable
- Eligibility for RN licensure in Indiana, if applicable
- Evidence of recent clinical practice
- Expertise in standard office software programs
