Job Summary
The incumbent is responsible for the general oversight of the Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation, including undergraduate and graduate degree programs, administration and budgets and personnel, recruitment and retention, strategic planning, and establishment/maintenance of productive professional relationships to effectively achieve the goals and objectives of the Department.

In-depth knowledge of Health, Physical Education and Recreation
Knowledge of trends and best practices in higher education related to HPER Demonstrated integrity Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and interpersonal Strong time management skills Passion for teaching and engaging with students Skilled in mentoring students Ability to professionally provide leadership and handle complex issues Ability to work well with colleagues and foster a collegial environment conducive to teamwork and students’ high level of learning Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with stakeholders Demonstrated grantsmanship ability |

Essential Job Functions

Qualifications
Doctor of Philosophy in an HPER Discipline or other related field of study five (5) years’ teaching experience at the college or university level
Teaching and research qualifying incumbent for at least the rank of Associate Professor in the Area of Specialization Experience planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating teaching and research HPER-related programs at the university level |
