Essential Job Functions

• • Conducts a requisite number of classes; Teaches assigned subjects.
  • Contributes to the developing and monitoring of departmental long-range and annual plans.
  • Implements appropriate instructional methodologies to foster and promote the teacher-learning process.
  • Facilities the development of course objectives, outlines, and students’ performance expectations.
  • Maintains prescribed clinical and classroom teaching assignments and office hours.
  • Grades assignments, provides feedback and post grades according to university guidelines.
  • Assesses the instructional needs of students in the program and helps coordinate the development of a plan to address these needs.
  • Cooperates with other faculty in carrying out activities designed to enhance the quality of the instruction, research and public service programs of the department/university.

• One (1) year clinical experience as a registered nurse.
• Research training.
• Publication record.
• Experience in the grant funding process commensurate with desired rank and tenure status.
• Experience in undergraduate education preferred.
• Skill in on-line education a plus.

Licensing and Certifications

• Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Mississippi.
• National certification in an area of clinical specialty or nursing education preferred.
